Education

The City has excellent primary and secondary schools (both public and private), with Fredericksburg High School named a Blue Ribbon school by the U.S. Department of Education – one of a select few. Fredericksburg ISD is composed of one high school, one middle school, two elementary schools and one primary school.

Higher education is gaining momentum with Austin Community College and Texas Tech University both offering bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in the area.

Brand new to Gillespie County and Fredericksburg is Concordia University, which is bringing opportunities for Adult Accelerated Business Degree programs.

Additionally, Schreiner University in nearby Kerrville (22 miles from Fredericksburg) offers a variety of programs and degrees.
