Department of Emergency Medical Services

Three shifts of paramedics (11 personnel) and 12 additional personnel in a part-time or volunteer capacity.

Police Department

Mission statement: “It is the mission of the Fredericksburg Police Department and its employees to create a safe and hospitable working environment wherein employees can pursue the goals of reducing crime and the fear thereof, as well as improving the quality of life within the community, through solution and community oriented policing techniques. These techniques will comply with State and United States constitutional and statutory requirements”

Fire Department

The Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1883. The department consists of the Director of Emergency Services, three paid shift officers, a fire marshal and 33 volunteers.
